June 2015 – An initiation degree ceremony held at Springbank Place
The Worshipful Master congratulates our newest initiate after his ceremony at the Lodge of Hope. Also pictured are the Senior & Junior Deacons and the Director of Ceremonies. The candidates ceremony was made a little difficult by the fact that he had a fractured foot following a motorcycle accident!
April 2015 – A Second Degree ceremony held at Criterion Lodge
As a University lodge, we often have several students joining us at about the same time and progressing together in their Masonic career; that allows us to collaborate with other lodges, who host some of the ceremonies enabling student members to progress.
On Tuesday 7 April, one of our student members was Passed to the degree of Fellowcraft at a well-attended ceremony held by Criterion Lodge at the Hoyle Court Masonic Hall, in the presence of the Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master, David Pratt, and 26 of his Officers. It was a brilliant ceremony, praised by the Provincial Grand Master as an example of Masonic collaboration; the WM of Criterion Lodge thanked the Lodge of Hope for enabling them to conduct the ceremony. Several Brethren of the Lodge of Hope played an active part both in the ceremony and in the Festive Board, and for the Candidate it was certainly an evening he will never forget.
March 2015 – The Lodge’s 2015 Clay Pigeon Shoot
It was a crisp, sunny Sunday morning at the Conniston Shooting Ground, near Skipton. On Sunday 8th March, the Brethren of 302 once again demonstrated their marksmanship at the annual Clay Pigeon Shoot, which this year took place at Coniston. It was a very enjoyable event, efficiently organised as usual by W Bro Neil Johnson, with 16 Brethren and guests shooting, supported by a similar number of spectators.
January 2015 – Ladies After Lodge
The Lodge welcomed the New Year with this traditional event, which took place on 5 January 2015 at the Dubrovnik Hotel, Bradford. The regular Lodge meeting was held in the morning to enable the Brethren to look after their guests in the evening. After a superb dinner, the entertainment was provided by the Toute Suite group, with Ms Joanne Crowther and her companions offering a combination of French songs and popular jazz.
